Portfolios

A portfolio is a collection of documents or books that gives AI models external, specific, and up-to-date facts. When you apply a portfolio in the Workbench, the model draws on its contents to answer prompts.

What makes a good portfolio

A strong portfolio grounds the model in the sources your business relies on, so it gives accurate, relevant answers and avoids guessing. Include:

• Regulations, standards, and compliance guidance that apply to your industry
• Internal policies, procedures, and codes of conduct
• Product documentation and approved reference material

Keep each portfolio focused on one use case or role, and remove outdated documents so the model doesn't cite superseded rules.

Browse portfolios

From PORTFOLIOS in the top menu, choose:

• My Portfolios: portfolios you created and portfolios your team shared with you
• All Portfolios: portfolios from the OWL community
• Books Search: Project Gutenberg books available to add to portfolios
• Create New: start a new portfolio

You can:

• Search by name or description
• Filter by category
• Sort by any column with arrows
• Hover over a description to read it in full

Click View to open a portfolio, or + Workbench to use it in the Workbench.

Create a portfolio

1. Go to PORTFOLIOS > Create New.
2. Enter a Portfolio Name and an optional Description.
3. Choose a Category: Industry, Job Roles, Philosophy and Politics, Literature, or Other.
4. Choose a Visibility:
   • Private: only you
   • Public: all OWL users
   • Enterprise: all users in your organization
   • OWL Team: the OWL team
5. Click Create Portfolio.
6. Click + Add Books to add documents or books. Click Done when finished.

To add books later, click View on the portfolio. To delete a portfolio, click the trash icon in My Portfolios.
